Tracking audit and monitoring tools, compared

By the Fireshift team · Competitor facts read on their own sites on 5 Nov 2026. Prices change; check before you buy.

Short answer

The tools split by how they get their data. Crawlers (ObservePoint, DataTrue) load your pages on a schedule and test journeys you script. Installed monitors (Trackingplan) add a snippet and watch real user traffic. Debuggers (Google Tag Assistant, GTM Preview) show what fires in your own browser session. Ads-account tools (Opteo, Optmyzr, Adalysis) read the Google Ads account. Fireshift reads the public tag setup from outside, with no install and no access, and judges whether each conversion is real funnel progress.

Which one, when

  • You need to know what's wrong today, without asking anyone for access: an outside read. That's what Fireshift is for.
  • You need every real session watched, including apps and server-side events: an installed monitor such as Trackingplan.
  • You run a large site with privacy, accessibility and tag governance requirements across thousands of pages: a crawler suite such as ObservePoint.
  • You are building or debugging a tag right now: GTM Preview and Tag Assistant, free.
  • You want bids and budgets managed: an Ads-account tool. None of the above touches bidding.

These are not either-or. A common pairing: Tag Assistant while you build, Fireshift to check what the result tells Google and to alert when it changes.

What only an outside read gives you

  • No install and no access, so it runs before a sales call, on a prospect, or on a client whose agency won't share GTM.
  • Competitors. Their containers are public too; no installed tool can see them.
  • A view on conversion quality. Whether a conversion is a page view, a login or a click, measured against 449 B2B SaaS sites.

What an outside read can't do

FAQ

Is Fireshift a replacement for ObservePoint or Trackingplan?

For some teams. If you need real-user monitoring or enterprise crawling with privacy and accessibility audits, no. If you need to know what your site tells Google Ads and whether it's noise, without installing anything, yes.

Why is there no price for ObservePoint?

ObservePoint's pricing page is a calculator by page-scan volume, billed annually. We don't quote third-party estimates as fact.

Are these comparisons neutral?

No, we wrote them and we sell Fireshift. We dated every fact, linked the sources, and listed where the other tool is better.

Fireshift reads what your site tells Google Ads, GA4 and Meta from the outside. No install, no account access.
